Hey Mel,

I Just happened upon your blog. I’ve just been bullied recently into blogging more and was on the hunt to find out what on earth people write about!

Although, Like the rest, I am truly shocked your single, I can understand why. As I get older I’m finding it harder to meet new people, it was all so easy back in uni. When do I get a chance to go out, I want to spend the time catching up with friends and the prospect of propping up a bar in some desperate attempt to bump into my dream woman is just not appealing. So in order to put my singleton days behind me, I too was convinced to signup to a dating site.

My good friend Kate added me to MySingleFriend.com (its a site where your friends write your profile, set everything up and get you going). You can hardly say no after someone has just written you a glowing report.

I used the site 2 years ago and met someone great. A year later and I find myself back on the site and having a great laugh ( http://www.mysinglefriend.com/detail.php?|=zghghijefab ). You do get taken more seriously if you upload a photo and if you treat it as just a way to meet new interesting people, you at least leave with some hilarious stories to tell. Incidentally I still try to meet people the old fashioned way, but the reception of building where we rent space just doesn’t seem to have the quality of ‘temps’ it use to

A couple of my mates have tried dating sites (with varying results) although it’s never been something I’ve been too keen on. As you say, it’s next to impossible to find people in bars. A few beers + robot dancing = not attractive (apparently ). I’m led to believe that the best way to meet people is through friends of friends. A good friend of mine who moved to London from Kerry and knew nobody is now with someone a year and he met her via a friend in work.

Mel wtf are you doing on those sites? There’s a bazillion guys that would give their right arm to go out with you. Yes, your company might be small, but you’re in an industry where there are so few girls and none of them hot like you either. Seriously take a look at yourself and please put this right.
