people are always asking me what blogs i read, sites i use etc. incase you don’t follow my links on del.icio.us i thought it would be great over the next couple of weeks for me to recommend what i read/use for…
- inspiration
- wonderful webappness
- blogs
- podcasts
- shopping sites
so what a great day to look at inspiration. having started at aardman animation on monday, i’ve spent much of this week familiarising myself with the industry and looking for cool film producers / animators whose work i like. the following aren’t all based on animation at all, but they’re inspiring i think…
- peter callesen paper. seriously. check it out.
- muto – a wall painted animation by blu.
- mammon – by robin fuller.
- soñadora – bedtastic animation by andrea lira.
- eden soto and all of the work that he does, he rocks!
- a.viary – not only b-e-a-utiful but cram packed with features for designers.
- fuzzwich – create your own animations – you, animations, go make!
- design shack – beautiful sites always make me smile inside.
- ponoko.com – you design stuff, they make it – sounds perfect to me.
well hopefully that’s a few links to keep you busy. i’d love to hear of any sites you find inspirational…

Hey Mel,
Always great to see a fresh collection of inspiration, slick and sometimes minimalist. a.viary is cool and nice collection of apps.
FYI, please get rid of the snap ads though, as the pop ups are annnoying.
Keep blogging and all the best with your work at aardman!

Hey Mel,
Thanks for the cool sites (I know my sister will love ponoko), and glad to hear that you’re joining the Aardman folks, they seem like a really cool bunch.
I’m also glad that you like what we’re doing at Fuzzwich. I’d, of course, love to hear your (and everyone else’s) thoughts/opinions/suggestions. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to conspire on something fun in the future.
Cheers!

@JonnyB – Thanks, you made me smile.
@Jim Callender – Snap Ads gone! Thanks for your best wishes.
@Chris Patton – Thanks for your comments – if there are any sites you’re using you think are cool, I’d love to hear them. I’m actually working with Paul Duncan on the 4mations project – I’m going to be looking after the community side of the project and I know that we’re doing stuff with Fuzzwich – so hopefully we’ll get to work together soon!
