Preview Screening of Bridesmaids

This evening, I had the pleasure of being invited to the Universal HQ for a preview screening of Bridesmaids, hosted by the lovely Poppy Dinsey.

I have to be honest and admit that when I first got the invite I had no idea just how good the film was going to be. It sounded like a chick flick and clearly involved a wedding and what girl doesn’t love a good wedding… so I was in. But boy, I haven’t laughed so hard for ages. Any film that opens with the line “cup my balls” is a winner in my books. You can watch the official trailer for the film here…

There’s a very definite observational humour in the film… I challenge any girl to watch it without a glimmer of recognition at some point – whether that’s falling for the wrong guy, being hopelessly single at a wedding or feeling that pang of jealousy when your best friend adds another close friend to their life… you know, the girl with the perfect hair, nails, body… blah!

I can’t speak highly enough of the film. I’m not writing that because I was invited to the viewing, but simply because it’s a bloody good film and is guaranteed to leave you with that feel good factor… and a desire for a man in uniform, but that’s a whole other story…
