nice to meet you, i’m mel, mel kirk (aka the social one).

I’m a Social Media Consultant focussed on building communities and brand with integrity. I’m currently working as Communities Manager for a 6 month period at Aardman Animations (yes that’s right Wallace & Gromit) but am available for consultancy work and larger projects going forwards.

My most recent project has involved building and managing a community around www.4mations.tv from scratch as well as directing the online strategy for www.wallaceandgrommit.com and www.shaunthesheep.com.

I blog about social media strategies and research as well as my infamous Random Thursday Videos, samples of which can be found here and here. Most recently I have been invited to numerous speaking engagements to talk about online communities, including the Web Developers Conference, BathCamp and proposed panels for SXSW 2009.
